The 53rd Battle of the Blues big match between traditional rivals Dharmasoka MV Ambalangoda and Sri Devananda MV Ambalangoda concluded at the UC ground Ambalangoda yesterday. The match was called off due to a delay in the final stages which resulted in the principal of Dharmasoka MV Sanuma Jayawickrama awarding the win to Sri Devananda MV.
At the time of stoppage, Sri Devananda MV chasing a victory target of 98 runs was on 85 for 7 needing another 13 runs for victory with the umpires being forced to call off play.
Sri Devananda MV recorded their second win of the series with their previous win being way back in 1966.
