A close tussle expected between Vidyartha and Science

A close encounter is expected today when two schools known for their unpredictability, Vidyartha College and Science College, clash in the Dialog Schools Under 20 Rugby League 2023 tournament at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy.

Kick-off is scheduled at 4 pm.

Science are led by Ashan Induwara and his deputy will be Anuradha Lakshan with some seniors such as Ashen Jayarandana, Ishara Dilshan, Kaveesha Meditha and Roshen Deneth in their outfit. They are coached by Amila Chathuranga supported by Thilina Costa and Prince Chamara.

The lads from Mount Lavinia are fast runners when given the ball to their hands and the Kandy School could be in deep trouble chasing them.

Meanwhile, Vidyartha look solid in their three-quarter line and their forwards, though not heavy, are mobile and fast and that could be an advantage for them.

They are led Nanjana Wijesuriya and well supported by Ranidu Gajanayake, Ishara Sandaruwan, Charana Perera, Dishan Kumara and Kaveesha Hettiarachchi. They are coached by Buddhika Abeysighe and supported by Anush Kolonne.

Kelum Sandaruwan will referee the game.
