Achala forwards coach of Rajans

Former Kingswood, CH & FC, Kandy SC, and national player Achala Perera was appointed as the forwards coach of the Dharmaraja College Under-19 rugby outfit for the 2023–24 rugby season.

Achala played for Kingswood from 2001–2004 under Dinesh Siriwimala and Fazil Marija. Kingswood became champions in 2004 at the All-Island Tournament.

He represented the national youth outfit in 2002 and 2003.

Achala started his coaching stint in 2016 at Thurstan College, S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, and Zahira College, Maradana, as the assistant forwards coach. Once the COVID pandemic hit the globe, he moved back to Kandy to coach at Dharmaraja College. By Shamseer Jaleel
