Air Force SC claim top honours at Munchee VB Tournament

Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) SC completed a grand double as they bagged the Men’s and Women’s titles at the Munchee Super League 2022 Volleyball Tournament, which concluded at the National Youth Services Centre (NYSC) Indoor Stadium in Maharagama.  

SLAF SC defeated Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) 27-25, 27-22, 25-21 in the Men’s Championship final while their Women’s Team had the better of Sri Lanka Army SC 17-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-20 in the final encounter.  

This was also the first instance in the history of the tournament where SLAF SC had won both the men’s and women’s titles.  

Meanwhile, Mahela Indeewara and Anusha Abeysingha both from SLAF SC were named as the Most Valuable Players in the Men’s and Women’s Tournament respectively.
