Air Force women emerge national wrestling champions

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) women’s team flew high to win the 2022 National Wrestling Championship while the men’s team emerged runners-up.   


The National Wrestling Championship was held at National Youth Services Council Indoor Stadium in Maharagama.

   
SLAF women won five Gold, five silver and bronze medal while the men clinched four gold, two silver and four bronze medals at the championship.   


Air Force wrestler Corporal T.K.S Maduranga was adjudged the Best Technical Wrestler.

Gold medalists: Cpl. M.W.B.M. Priyanga Kumari (59kg), Leading Aircraftwoman W.E.C.K.R Weerasinghe (76kg), LACW R.M.S. Chethana (68kg), LACW W.G.W. Lakmali (72kg), LACW C.N.N. Perera (65kg);

Silvermedalists:LACW K.K.D.P. Wickramapala (72kg), LACW M.W.D.M.P. Kumari (65kg), LACW N.L.L. Nawoda (76kg), LACW R.A.K. Maduwanthi (62Kg), Aircraftwoman W.M.H.H. Wijesinghe (57Kg); Bronze medalist:LACW R.A.M.N. Rupasinghe (68kg)
