All-Island Open Netball Carnival on December 3-4

The biggest netball event in the country, the Eva All-Island Open Netball Carnival 2022, conducted by the Western Province Netball Association (WPNA) and sponsored by ICL Brands (Pvt) Limited for the 26th successive year, will be held on December 3 and 4 at the Air Force Grounds in Rifle Green.


This event, which is the oldest tournament in the country, even surpassing the Sri Lanka National Netball Championships, will be conducted in four divisions.


The ‘A’ Division will be open for men and women, ‘B’ Division open for men, the Schools’ Division for U-15, U-17, and U-19 players, while the Veteran’s Division will be for over-40 women.
Meanwhile, Shanthi Bhagirathan, Group Director, Capital Maharaja Group, told reporters in Colombo that they came forward to sponsor this event as the tournament is known to have produced some outstanding netballers in the recent past for the Sri Lanka Senior and Junior National Pools.


She further revealed that ICL Brands would always continue to support this tournament, which has been conducted successfully and annually with many teams participating.
WPNA President Sandya Rajapaksa said that the tournament will be open to all clubs, mercantile firms, government insurances, banks, universities and schools, both local and international, affiliated to their respective associations.
