C.W.W. Kannangara MMV Hunumulla and Vivekananda MV Colombo won the boys’ and girls’ Under 20 Physical Education Lesson Plan Competition (PELPC) Championship at the All Island School Games (AISG) 2023 held in Kandy.

St. Xavier MMV, Marawila were the boys’ runner-up and Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya the girls’ runner-up in this tournament conducted by Ministry of Education.
St. Henry’s College, Valikaman and Little Flower Convent, Kayts won third place in the boys’ and girls’ competition.
More than 30 schools participated in this tournament.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has made arrangements to hold the All Island Schools Games (AISG) 2023 Stage Two for nine sports from September 22 (today) to 25 in Colombo and outstation.

Of the 30 sports in the AISG, boxing, swimming, leather ball cricket, kabaddi, rugby, wushu, aerobic gymnastics, throw ball and hand ball will be held within the next three days from today.
Boxing has attracted more entries and the tournament is scheduled to be held from September 22 to 25 at the Royal MAS Arena Sports Complex in Colombo.
Under the AISG stage one, beach volleyball, PELPC, netball, weightlifting, soft ball cricket, carrom, wrestling, and gymnastic competitions have already been completed.
