St. Anthony’s College Katugastota lived up to their expected high standard of running rugby in outclassing Kingswood College by 57 points (9 tries, 6 conversions) to 7 points (1 try, 1 conversion) at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium yesterday. At the short whistle Antonians led 24/0.

Antonians ran circles around the Kingswood defence in a combined effort by the three quarters and mobile set of forwards, showing why they should not be written off despite losing to Royal and Trinity.

For the Antonians skipper, Jeyan Amarasinghe, Tiron Mariyadas and Sahan Keerthisiri stood out.
The tries for St. Anthony’s were scored by Tiron Mariyadas (3), Jeyan Amarasinghe (2), Sahan Keerthisiri, Saduka Athukorale, Maliksha Perera and Jude Realano. Place kicker Keerthisiri was on target with six of the tries. Meanwhile Kingswood scored their solitary try through Matheesha Dharmasena with Nimanka Ishara adding the extra points.
