Anumi steals the show at VGR Monthly Medal

Promising young golfer Anumi Karunathilake from Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy defied expectations to claim the Overall Title at the Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) Monthly Medal held at their Club Course in Rajawella.

Karunathilake’s impressive performance across all segments earned her the coveted Overall Winner title.

In the Men’s Division another youngster, Musa Shariff emerged victorious in the Gross segment, showing his powerful swing and accuracy at his home course.

The experienced Sanjeewa Wickramanayake was pushed to the runner-up position in the same category.

Meanwhile, Nisal Hettiarachchi secured the Men’s Nett Winner title with a well-calculated performance while Nisith Gunawardena another sensational 16-year-old student from Trinity College was the runner-up in the same segment.

Nisith, a good badminton player gave up the sport for golf and achieved a rare Hole-in-One at the seventh.

In the Ladies’ side, Iman Sangani impressed with her precision and control, taking home the Gross Winner Trophy while Rudrani Devidas was the runner-up.
Roshini Sangani, showing a strategic approach to the course, clinched the Ladies’ Nett Winner title while Linda Harris was the runner-up adding another title in her career. This event was sponsored by Lectra Grand Prix
