The second day’s proceedings of the second Army Commander’s T20 tournament played at the Army cricket ground in Dombagoda yesterday saw Super Fashion Northern Warriors and Event Tv Western Warriors recording their second successive wins to maintain their unbeaten record.
Super Fashion Northern Warriors led by Seekkuge Prasanna who pulled off a convincing win over defending champions Dimo Southern Warriors led by Dinesh Chandimal on day one defeated Batsman.com Eastern Warriors by five wickets on D/L method in the match played in the morning session while Event Tv Eastern Warriors led by Thisara Perera overcame Dimo Southern Warriors by six wickets in the match played in the evening session.
The morning session match saw Batsman.com Eastern Warriors taking first lease of the wicket making a score of 150 for 3 and later the match after being reduced to 15 overs and Super Fashion Northern Warriors set a target of 131 runs being guided by Milinda Siriwardena and Pathum Kumara who together shared a valuable 73 runs for the fifth wicket to reach the target.
In the other match an unbeaten knock of 60 in 53 balls inclusive of five boundaries and two sixes by Upul Tharanga paved the way for Event Tv coast to an easy six wicket win as he along with Dilshan Munaweera laid the foundation with an opening wicket stand of 60 runs to steer the side race to the target of 132 runs in the 19th over.
Today is a rest day and two matches are down for decision tomorrow with Batsman.com Eastern Warriors meeting Dimo Southern Warriors and the clash between unbeaten teams Super Fashion Northern Warriors and Event Tv Western Warriors scheduled to be played in the evening.
