Skipper Thisara Perera shone with an unbeaten knock of 75 runs made in only 35 balls that included eight boundaries and three sixes to steer Event TV Western Warriors to a comfortable four-wicket win over Batsman.com Eastern Warriors in a high scoring match of the Army Commander’s T20 cricket tournament played at the Army ground in Dombagoda.
Batsman.com Eastern Warriors taking first lease of the wicket made a score of 152 and Event TV Western Warriors in their run chase was helped by an unbroken 99-run stand for the seventh wicket between skipper Perera and Yashoda Mendis enabling them to reach the target in the 19th over and record their third win.
Meanwhile, Super Fashion Northern Warriors met their waterloo and had their unbeaten record tarnished when Dimo Southern Warriors defeated them by 52 runs yesterday morning.
DImo Southern Warriors taking first lease of the wicket posted a formidable score of 159 and Super Fashion Northern Warriors in their turn was able to muster a score of only 107 runs.
However, after the completion of five matches played by each team, Super Fashion Northern Warriors with four wins from five outings maintain the top spot followed by Event TV Western Warriors with three four wins, Dimo Southern Warriors with two wins and one win by Batsman.com Eastern Warriors.
