Asian Sevens to kick off in South Korea

The Asia Rugby Sevens Series is set to ignite the region with thrilling rugby action across three countries. The high-octane tournament will commence on September 7–8 at the Namdong Stadium in South Korea, marking the first leg of the series. The Sri Lankan sevens outfit is likely to feature in all three legs by sending both men’s and women’s outfits for these three encounters in the region, which is the only opportunity for our athletes.

Rugby enthusiasts will then have the opportunity to witness the intense competition in Hangzhou, China, on 21–22 for the second leg. The series will conclude with a grand finale in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 9–10.

As Asia’s top rugby sevens teams gear up for battle, fans can expect an exhilarating display of skill, speed, and athleticism. The series promises to be top-class action of the growing talent in Asian rugby and a platform for players to shine on the international stage.

The series features Asia’s top eight men’s and women’s teams, with the United Arab Emirates women’s and Thailand men’s teams joining after winning last year’s Asia Rugby Sevens Trophy in Qatar.

Longer version of game

The season will culminate with thrilling fifteens action in December. The Asia Rugby Under-19 Championship, featuring the future stars of Asian rugby, will be hosted by Taipei from December 18–22. The tournament acts as a qualifier for the 2025 World Rugby U20 Trophy. Additionally, the Asia Rugby Women’s Division 1 will take place in India from December 13–21, where India will compete against Malaysia and the UAE, who will be making their debuts.
