Asian champions return

Sri Lanka’s Men’s national cricket team and Women’s Netball team arrived in the country yesterday morning, having been crowned Asian champions of their respective sports on Sunday. The Men’s cricket team won the Asia Cup 2022, beating Pakistan by 23 runs in the final, with Asian Netball Championship being won by Sri Lanka, overpowering Singapore, earlier in the day. Both teams took part in an open bus parade from the Bandaranaike International Airport from Katunayake to Colombo, with throngs of supporters lining the streets along the way.
