Aslam and Bandara shine at National Ranking Tourney

The May National Ranking Championship 2024 teed off with a bang as golf enthusiasts gathered at the Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) in Rajawella yesterday.
The initial day saw Haroon Aslam the, former Trinitian, on holiday from the USA and Vijitha Bandara tied for the top position with 73 points each. Vijitha Bandara the sole professional was in top form on a one over par 73-round.
Closely followed in number two position were Chalitha Pushpika, Uchitha Ranasinghe and the young sensation Yannik Kumara, all vying for the top spot.  
Meanwhile, veteran Chanaka Perera was pushed to number three position along with G. Danaranjan.
Results after Day 1: Vijitha Bandara and Haroon Aslam (73 each). Chalitha Pushpika, Uchitha Ranasinghe, Yammik Lumara (74 each). G. Dhanaranjan and Chanaka Perera (79 each).
