Avishka Gunawardene Named U19 Head Coach

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed former Sri Lanka batsman Avishka Gunawardene as the Head Coach of the Sri Lanka Under-19 side, effective immediately. 

Gunawardene, who has been contracted until December 31, 2022, is an ICC Level-3 qualified coach and has previously served as Head Coach of the national ‘A’ and ‘Emerging’ sides. He was also the batting coach of the national team during several international assignments. 

Meanwhile, Mahinda Halangoda was also named the Team Manager of the Under-19 team. 
Halangoda’s appointment is effective until the completion of next year’s Under-19 World Cup scheduled to be held in the West Indies. (AD)
