Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel shone on day two in their drawn two-day warm-up match against the SLC President’s XI concluded at the Sooriyawewa Stadium yesterday.
The second day’s proceedings saw Pakistan resuming from their overnight score of 160 for 3 and overnight pair Azam cracking 79 in 113 balls with seven boundaries and a six, and Shakeel making 61 in 86 balls with six boundaries, sharing a stand of 130 runs stand for the fourth wicket. From there on they lost wickets cheaply and from a healthy position of 286 for 4 they slumped to a score of 342 as they lost the last six wickets for the addition of only 56 runs.
SLC President’s XI batting the second time ended the day on 88 for 4.
