Battle of the Lovers Limited Over Dhanuja steers Mahinda

A quick fire 101 ball knock of 100 with eight boundaries and six sixes by Dhanuja Induwara paved the way for Mahinda to record a 17 run win over traditional rivals Richmond in their annual Battle of the Lovers limited over encounter played at Mahinda College ground in Galle.

Mahinda taking first lease of the wicket was helped by a last wicket stand of 51 runs between Dhanuja and Kaveen Rukshan enabling them to make a modest score of 226 runs. Richmond in their run chase was making steady progress, but Mahinda’s bowling duo Kushan Madusha and Shehan Hasaranga who together shared six wickets succeeded to restrict Richmond.
