Brian and Diyawadana shine at NSG Karate Meet

E. Brian and W. D. A. T. Diyawadana – both from the Western Province - won the Most Outstanding Player Award for Men and Women respectively at the 48th National Sports Games (NSG) Karate-Do Championships held at the District Sports Complex in Kotavila, Matara.

The Karate Do (Kumite and Katha) events were conducted by the Ministry of Sports and the Department of Sports Development.

Meanwhile, North Western Province completed a fine double by winning the Men’s and Women’s Overall Team Championships.

The Western Province had to be satisfied with the runners-up position in the Men’s and Women’s Overall Team Championship.  

The Uva Province and the Sabaragamuwa Province jointly won third place in the Men’s Team Championship.  

Meanwhile, the Sabaragamuwa Province and the Southern Provinces jointly took third place in the Women’s Team Championship.
