CAS win top honours at Friendship Archery Tourney

The Friendship International Archery Tournament between the Archery Teams of the University of Karachi, Pakistan and the CAS Archery Club of the Colombo Archery Centre, Sri Lanka, was held at the Colombo Archery Centre recently.


This was the first time that a Pakistan archery team had toured Sri Lanka.


The Sri Lankan Archers won top honours at the tournament, winning five of the six medals on offer at the tournament.


In the ladies’ section, Vinuri Guneratne of CAS Archery Club won the Gold Medal, Laila Sulaiman of CAS Archery Club won the Silver Medal and Ameera Aashique, also of CAS Archery Club, won the Bronze Medal.
In the men’s section, Savinu Hansaja of the CAS Archery Club won the Gold Medal, Vihanga Gunesekera of Sagittarians Club won the Silver Medal, and Rashid Masud of the University of Karachi won the Bronze Medal.
The Colombo Archery Centre is a World Archery Organisation accredited archery training centre located in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
