CCCLine –1333– the toll free phone support service, is a project of the CCC Foundation which has been functional since 2009, supported by the annual Bikeathon, to create awareness on the availability of the service for all Sri Lankans and to raise funds to operate the CCC Line.
The Bikeathon is traditionally a ride which covers 1333kms, over 13 days across Sri Lanka to end on the 10th of September which is World Suicide Prevention Day. During the ride, riders from Sri Lanka as well as overseas, create awareness and raise funds to facilitate the CCC Line. The availability of a service that offers crisis support, as well as preventing Sri Lankans resorting to drastic measures without having the option to talk to anyone has been a burning need of the society.
The 1333 toll free service is available for access from any phone any time during the day. Trained resources supporting the callers have been helping Sri Lankans over a long period of time.
The annual Bikeathon that helps the maintenance of the CCC Line will be curtailed somewhat during this year. Given the current environment the ride will be a shorter version with limited participants.
