CR and FC overcame a tense few final minutes to get the better of Navy SC 33-27 in a Nippon Paint Rugby League tournament match played at Longden Place yesterday.  
CR having trailed 11-15 at the breather accumulated their points through two goals, two tries and three penalties as against to the two goals, two tries and a penalty scored by Navy SC.  
The first session saw Ashan Darling going over for an unconverted try while Chathura Seneviratne booted over two penalties for CR while Navy SC responded with two tries by Nirosh Perera, and Harsha Maduranga with Thilina Weerasinghe converting one and also putting over a penalty.  


CR got the scoreboard moving fast in the second half. Two tries were scored by Gemunu Chethiya and Marsheed Doray with Chathura Seneviratne and Thenuka Nanayakkara making the conversions.Seneviratne also booted over a penalty. Navy SC was able to post only 12 points in the half through tries by Dinesh de Silva and Lahiru Herath with Thilina making one conversion.  


Air Force in comfortable win over Army


Air Force SC coasted to an easy 27 points to 19 win over Army SC in another match of the Nippon Paint Rugby League tournament played at the Army ground in Panagoda yesterday.  
Air Force SC having conceded a slender 0-5 lead at half time made up their points through two goals, two tries and a penalty to the two goals and a try scored by Army SC.   
For the winners Shamika Milinda went over for two tries with Dharshana Dabare and Parakrama Ratnayake scoring a try each while Nuwan Perera booted over two conversions and the penalty.For Army SC Lasantha Kumara, Mohamed Rifan and Isuru Medagedera scored the tries with Medagedera also obliging with two conversions.
