Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kaveesha Dilhari put on a match winning partnership

Sri Lanka Women skipper Chamari Athapaththu along with Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari shone for host Sri Lanka Women in their seven wickets win over the visiting Bangladesh Women in the second T20 encounter played at the SSC ground yesterday.
Skipper Athapaththu and Vishmi Gunratne gave the Sri Lanka Women a In quest of 101 runs for victory a sound start with the pair putting on 43 runs before they were separated with the dismissal of Athapaththu who made a knock of 33 in 27 balls which had six boundaries and a six.
But they lost two quick wickets for the addition of 25 runs that of Gunaratne and Nilakshi de Silva before Harshitha Samarawickrama who remained unbeaten 29 along with Kavisha Dilhara who made 20 saw the side through with an unbroken 33 runs for the fourth wicket for Sri Lanka Women to reach the target in the 19th over.
Earlier the Bangladesh Women invited to take first lease of the wicket was making steady progress and at the halfway stage of the innings they were on 58 for 2. From there on they lost wickets at regular intervals and slid to 85 for 5 in the 15th over.
The late order batting failed to make any impression as they lost the remaining five wickets for the addition of only 15 runs and was bowled out for 100.
Inoka Ranaweera along with Kavisha Dilhari, Sugandika Kumari and Udeshika Prabodhani who together shared eight wickets between them did the damage.
The win saw the Sri Lanka Women make it one each in the three match series with the deciding match scheduled to be played today from 1:00 p.m. onwards at the same venue.
