Chamod Pushpa from Softlogic bags 7 for 37

The National Development Bank (NDB) –Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) Premier League 2022, has progressed in spite of several hurdles along the way. Since the start of the tournament, 16 matches were billed for play, out of which only seven were played, due to postponements caused by transport problems and incessant rain.

In the seven matches, Softlogic Holdings beat 3DH International by three runs at Moratuwa, DFCC Bank beat People’s Leasing by six wickets at BRC, Commercial Bank beat Standard Chartered Bank by 164 runs at Moratuwa, People’s Leasing beat Commercial Bank by six wickets on the DLS method at Katunayake, Softlogic Holdings beat Fairfirst Insurance by 46 runs at BRC, while two matches -- Asia Asset Finance Vs. Softlogic Holdings at Mattegoda and Nawaloka Hospitals Vs. Morison at NCC Grounds -- were not completed due to rain. 

Chamod Pushpa from Softlogic Holdings finished with incredible figures of 7-37 in 6.4 overs against Fairfirst Insurance while in batting Ravindra Ratnayake of DFCC Bank top scored with 75 and Gimhan Ashiriwadan of DFCC Bank was the weekend’s top all-rounder scoring 73 runs, claiming 3 for 21 against Standard Chartered Bank.
