NCC, which ended as the second best team in the SLC Premier Tier ‘A’ Super Eight Inter-Club Cricket Tournament, concluded their campaign on a winning note when they outclassed Colts CC by an innings and 79 runs in their match which ended at the CCC Grounds in Maitland Crescent yesterday.
Left-arm spinner Chathuranga de Silva who bagged six wickets in the first innings ended with another four-wicket haul to send Colts CC reeling to 157 in the second innings.
Meanwhile, centuries by Ashan Priyanjan (170) and Skipper Kusal Mendis (157) were the highlights on the final day’s play in the match between CCC and Chilaw Marians CC played at the SSC Grounds in Maitland Place.
Ragama CC recorded a first innings win over BRC in a high-scoring encounter which ended at the P. Sara Oval while Army SC secured an easy first innings win against Saracens SC at the FTZ Grounds in Katunayake.
