Chief of Defence Staff Shavendra to head NSC

 Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe yesterday appointed Chief of Defence Staff and former Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Shavendra Silva as the Chairman of the National Selection Committee (NSC).   

 The seven-member NSC Selection Committee took their letters of appointment from the Minister Ranasinghe during a ceremony held at the Duncan White Auditorium in Colombo.   
 Former Test cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya and former national netball coach Thilaka Jinadasa were named among the seven-member NSC.   

 The Minister said that any complaints on the selection of national teams made within seven days will be considered by the NSC.   

 The new panel of NSC: Shavendra Silva (Chairman), Arjun Rishya Fernando (Secretary), Dr. Maiya Gunasekara (Member), Prasanna Chandradith (Member), Maxwell de Silva (Member), Sanath Jayasuriya (Member) and Thilaka Jinadasa (Member).
