Colombo recorded a comfortable first-innings win over Jaffna in the National Super League tournament cricket encounter that concluded at the Pallekele Stadium yesterday.


Colombo in reply to Jaffna’s score of 199 resuming from their overnight score of 210 for 6 helped by useful knocks from Manoj Sarathchandra and Prabath Jayasuriya went on to make a score of 289. Jaffna batting the second ended the day on 229 for 8 with Avishka Tharindu making a top score of 50.


The match between Kandy and Dambulla ended with no result as it was abandoned for the fourth successive day without a ball being bowled.
