Consistent Thanga stamps his class at NRT

The much-awaited August National Ranking Golf Tournament (NRT) 2024 saw some top class performances by Pro Nadaraja Thangaraja, who continued his lead from day one till the final day at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) Course to win the championship.

Thangaraja showed remarkable skills and resilience during the four days and never allowing anyone to come closer to his score. 

The competition was fierce, with each participant determined to make their mark and improve their standings on the world stage.

Leading the way Thangaraja delivered an outstanding performance to secure the top spot with a total score of 270. 

His consistent play across all four days of the tournament set him apart from the competition, earning him a well-deserved victory and valuable ranking points.

Chalitha Pushpika followed in second place with a score of 293, demonstrating his ability to navigate the challenging course conditions with skills and determination. 

Pushpika’s performance put his position as one of the leading golfers in the national circuit.

The third place was a tightly contested battle, resulting in a four-way tie. Chanaka Perera, Uditha Jayasuriya, Husni Uwise and P. D. S. U. Kumara all finished with a score of 297, showing the depth of talent present in Sri Lanka’s golfing community.

Meanwhile, Sanduni Wanasinghe won the Ladies’ event with a score of 375.

Sri Lanka Golf organised and conducted this event giving exposure for the golfing talent in the country.
