The Chief Training Consultant of the Sri Lanka football team Andrew Morrison is of the opinion that the status of Sri Lanka football can be improved within the next three years.

Qatar Football Association and Aspire Football Academy have sent two football consultants Andrew Morrison (Chief Training Consultant) and Keith Steven (Assistant Training Consultant) to Sri Lanka.

The football consultants are on a three-year contract from July 1 for a development programme till 2025.
“We can’t comment on the national squad since we are still new. We are in the process of assessing their skill levels. We will assess their skill levels during the AFC tournament. I think we have to improve their fitness levels and commitment,” said Morrison.

“Sri Lanka should switch to defending football rather than playing attacking football. We hope to make a formidable team during the next three years,” he added.
