Defenders, New Youngs triumph in LSL Stage Four

Defenders FC defeated Ratnam SC 2-1 in their Lanka Super League (LSL) semi-professional Football Tournament Stage-4 match played at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo yesterday.

The winners led 1-0 at half-time after Lakshitha Jayatunga opened the scoring for the Defenders FC in the 40th minute of play.

After the turnaround, Rifkhan Mohamed scored the second goal for the Defenders FC in the 48th minute to virtually seal the contest in their favour.
Mohammed Hakeem scored the solitary goal for Ratnam SC in the 76th minute of play.       

 
Meanwhile, New Youngs FC beat Blue Eagle SC 2-1 in the second match of the day played at the same venue.

New Youngs FC led 1-0 at half time with M. Mushikhan scoring the first goal in the 38th minute of play.

After the break, the winners took a 2-0 lead with Ramesh Mendis scoring the second goal in the 54th 
minute of play.

Lasith Fernando scored the only goal for Blue Eagle SC in the 86th minute of the game.
