Dharshana to run in Bahamas Meet

Sri Lankan sprinter Aruna Dharshana left the island yesterday to participate in the North American and Caribbean Athletics Association Championships to be held in the Bahamas on June 16.  

This meet is a World Athletics ‘B’ Grade (Silver Label) competition and this competition is crucial for Dharshana, who is close to achieving the elusive Olympic Qualifying mark.  

48 top athletes from around the world will be included in the Men’s 400m event of this year’s Olympics and currently, Dharshan is trailing in 53rd place.  

Meanwhile, Daminda Bandara will accompany Dharshana as the Manager and Coach.
