Indian golfer Dwivedi Samarath shot a final day score of 69 on the way to winning the Dialog Sri Lanka Open Golf Championship 2023 at the Royal Colombo Golf Course (RCGC) yesterday.  


Samarath, who equalled the course record set by Nandasena Perera and Anura Rohana on day two, ended with a total of 271, and was supreme class with some fine long range shots.  


Hossain Jamal from Bangladesh and Chouhan Omprakash from India tied for second place, with a score of 273.  
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan golfer Anura Rohana who had an impressive start on day one, had to settle for fourth place with a total of 276 points.  


Mithun Perera (7), N. Thangaraja (8), Chalitha Pushpika (9), Yevin Samararatne (10), Reshan Algama (11), K Parabagaran (12), Chanaka Perera (14), Lalith Kumara (16), Haroon Aslam (18), M Amarapathma (19), U Ranasinghe (21), Yannik Kumara (22), Armand Caldera (22), P. D. S. U. Kumara (24), J. M. D. Indika (25) and Pranva Muralidaran (26) were the local golfers who finished in the top 30.  


There were some top class golfers across the region, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore at the tournament, with 117 golfers teeing off on day one.
