Indian golfer Dwivedi Samarath had another fine day with his accurate and powerful long range golfing shots remaining on top at the end of day 3 of the Dialog Sri Lanka Open Golf Championship at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) in Colombo yesterday.
The final day will take place today (June 2).
Dwivedi, who impressed over the first two days totaling 133 to secure top position, had another fine day with 69, taking his overall score to 202. Second place was snatched by Hossain Jamal from Bangladesh who was third at the end of day 2, but moved up a spot with an impressive third day score of 69 to end on 204 with some consistent golfing shots.
Another Indian golfer, Chouhan Omprakash totalled 205 but slid down to third on the leaderboard.
Meanwhile Sri Lankan Anura Rohana was tied for fifth position along with Saptak Talwar and Mane Udayan both from India.
Mithun Perera and N Thangaraja reached the top 10 while K Prabagaran and Chalitha Pushpika were tied for 13th.
Yevin Samararatne and Reshan Algama were 14th and 15th respectively, with local golfers Chanaka Perera, Lalith Kumara, Haroon Aslam, M Amarapathma and Yannik Kumara inside the top 30.
The cut was based on the scores of the first two days with the best 36 ranked golfers being selected for day 3 (yesterday) and the final day (4) today. There were golfers across the region, including from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore and hosts Sri Lanka.
