The official sponsor of the National Cricket Team, Dialog Axiata PLC, launched a wishing sticker campaign in support of the National T20 Cricket Team who qualified for the Super 12 Round of the World Cup currently being played in Australia.

After their resounding win against Pakistan in the finals of the Asia Cup 2022, which secured their sixth Asian Title, Our Lions will be setting their sights to raise the bar even higher and secure the World T20 title for the second time, playing against the top sides of world cricket.

An island-wide wishing sticker campaign organised by the sponsor of the national cricket team, Dialog Axiata, with the blessing of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), hopes to rally fans around in support of the National Cricket Team, who qualified for the Super 12 Round of the 2022 T20 World Cup by defeating the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands. The wishing sticker campaign will cover selected provinces of the country despite the inclement weather.

By scanning the QR (Quick Response) code on the sticker, supporters and fans can wish and cheer on the national cricket team to bring home the World Cup after a dearth of eight long years. Cricket fans can also visit dlg.lk/apekollo to access the wishing portal and submit their wishes in support of the national cricket team and win exciting cricket memorabilia from Dialog.

“This initiative is a welcome boost for the national team gearing up for the Super 12 Round of the T20 World Cup, as they will face the best teams in the world and I’m thankful to Dialog Axiata for this initiative, which is a part of its wish campaign,” Upul Navaratne Bandara, Head of Marketing, SLC said.

The 2022 ICC (International Cricket Council) Men’s T20 World Cup is the pinnacle of the shortest version of the sport, and at present, the world title is held by the 2022 hosts, Australia, who beat the Black Caps by eight wickets last year.

Dialog Axiata is the proud sponsor of the Sri Lanka National Cricket, Volleyball, Netball and Esports teams. The Company also has a close association with the President’s Gold Cup Volleyball, National Junior and Senior Netball tourneys, Schools Rugby, and Paralympic sports - by powering the Army Para Games, National Para Games, and the Sri Lankan contingent to the World Paralympic Games.
