Dialog powers Netball Nationals for fourth time

Dialog Axiata PLC has come forward to sponsor the Netball Nationals for the fourth time. Conducted by the Sri Lanka Netball Federation (SLNF), the preliminary round of the tournament will be held on February 11-12 at Torrington Indoor Stadium and the finals at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

This is the first tournament to be organised according to the 2023 competition calendar prepared by SLNF.

SLNF president Lakshmi Victoria said that 35 teams have entered for the Netball Nationals this year. The Asian Junior Netball Championship from May 10-17 (South Korea) and the World Netball Championship from July 28 to August 6 (South Africa) are the main challenges for Sri Lanka, and based on their performance at the Netball Nationals, the SLNF will include several players in the Junior and Senior National Pools. Training for the netball pool is scheduled to start on February 16. HNB emerged as champions, and Sri Lanka Air Force were runners-up at the last Nationals.
