Dilara Akter and Murshida Khatun steered the visiting Bangladesh Women’s ‘A’ Team to a seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka Women’s ‘A’ Team in the second and deciding limited over encounter played at the Thurstan College Grounds in Colombo yesterday.
The match got off to a late start due to a wet outfield and was restricted to 20 overs per side. Sri Lanka Women taking first lease of the wicket made 113 runs.
In reply, Dilara and Murshida put on a valuable 74-run stand for the second wicket to help Bangladesh Women race to the target in the 18th over and to win the series 1-0.
The first match of the series was washed out without a ball being bowled at Panagoda. The two teams will play their first of five T20’s starting tomorrow at the P. Sara Oval.
