The second edition of the Eagles’ Catalina Medal Golf Tournament, organised under the guidance of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, concluded successfully at the Eagles’ Catalina Golf Course in Koggala.
The past Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Kapila Jayampathy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and initiated the tournament with the First tee-off, adding distinction to the event.
The tournament saw exceptional performances across both the Ladies’ and Men’s divisions. Shiyanthi Pieris and Wing Commander Kumara Guruge secured awards for the Longest Drive in their respective categories.
Frank de Mel was named runner-up in the Women’s category in the Gross Score competition while Gayashan Wijesinghe earned the same in the Men’s division.
Mervin Preena claimed the Nearest to the Pin award in the Men’s category. In the Net Score competition, de Mel and Shirley Corea were the runners-up in the Women’s and Men’s categories respectively.
Dilini Hennayake and Wing Commander Lakmal Gunawardana (Retired) triumphed in the Gross Score category for the Ladies’ and Men’s divisions.
The coveted Eagles’ Catalina Monthly Medal for October was awarded to Dilini Hennayake in the Women’s division and Wing Commander Lakmal Gunawardana (Retired) in the Men’s division, both securing the Winner Net Score titles.
The event concluded on a high note with the participants eagerly looking forward to future editions of the Eagles’ Catalina Medal Golf Tournament.
