Dinara claim Women’s Open Singles

The 109th National Tennis Championships at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo has been a successful event for Apna Perera and Dinara de Silva. 

Apna, who earlier emerged champion in two events winning the Men’s Open Singles and Doubles titles, added another one while clinching the Mixed Doubles title.

He partnered Inuki Jayaweera and overcame the pair of Dilvan Herath and Hasali Gajaba with a hard fought 2-1 win in the final played yesterday.

Meanwhile, Dinara who defended the Girls’ Under-18 Singles title for the third successive year, continued her winning streak when she defeated Rukshika Wijesooriya in the Women’s Open Singles.

(Women’s Open Singles final): Dinara de Silva beat Rukshika Wijesooriya 6-3, 1-6, 10-4. Mixed Doubles final: Apna Perera/Inuki Jayaweera beat Dilvan Herath/Hasali Gajaba 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.
