Dodanwela appointed new Tournament Director of LPL

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed its Tournament Committee Chairman Samantha Dodanwela as the new Tournament Director of the Lanka Premier League (LPL). 

Dodanwela, a former cricket vice captain of Trinity College Kandy in 1990, takes over from SLC Vice President Ravin Wickramaratne, who served as Tournament Director for the first two seasons of the LPL. 

Wickramaratne, who cited personal reasons for his stepping down, was quoted as saying, “It is time to hand over the role to a new hand in order continue the good work we have done” in a media release issued by SLC.  

Dodanwela is also a Member of the Executive Committee of SLC.  

Dodanwela is also a former first class cricketer and played for SSC between 1991 and 1997, also representing the Board President’s XI.
