Dollar crisis forces sports bodies to rely on local coaches

Several national sports associations have decided to limit getting down foreign coaches for international tournaments this year.

Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation, Football Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Athletics are the leading sport bodies who have taken this decision because of the dollar crisis faced by the nation by recruiting local coaches.

The Sports Ministry has signed agreements with several countries while the sports bodies have also agreements with international associations to get down foreign coaches.
The athletes selected for the Commonwealth and Asian Games would be trained by local coaches in Sri Lanka.
