Havelock Sports Club fly half Dulaj Perera has gone AWOL (absent without leave) in an attempt to force through a move towards the CH and FC, according to the Havelock SC Management.

Daily Mirror understands that the dynamic fly half missed practice sessions and is certainly not a part in Head Coach Sanath Martis’ plans for the upcoming season.

The Havies who finished third last season, have already lost a host of players to the CH and FC, and according to a reliable source close to the Park Club, Perera looks to follow the footsteps of the likes of Hirantha Perera, Sudam Parinda, Nishon Perera and Prasath Madushanka by joining the Maitland Crescent Club.

This however, is not possibility at the moment as the former St. Peter’s stand-off has a contract with Havelock SC which runs until March next year.

“Dulaj has not reported to practice sessions which is disappointing because we expect all the players to be professionals. The player has a contract with Havelock SC until March, 2019 and the club has not released him to play for another club. I would also like to make it clear that the club has no intention of releasing him at the moment which technically makes him unavailable for any other club,” the source revealed.

Meanwhile, CH and FC told the Daily Mirror that they have not made any attempt to sign Dulaj Perera from Havelock SC.

“We have not held any discussion with Havelock SC over the transfer of Dulaj Perera. At present we have no intention of signing him although he is an exceptional player,” CH and FC Management stated.

Daily Mirror did contact Dulaj Perera, but the player indicated that he is not willing to comment on this matter.

Perera has been a phenomenal player for the Havies over the last few years playing at both fly half and full back positions in addition to being one of Sri Lanka’s finest place kickers.
