Isipathana College will be in Kandy today when they play their last first round game against the “dark horses” of the tournament Vidyartha College at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Isipathana has lived up to high expectations remaining the only unbeaten side up to date led ably by Dahan Nithina and coached by Saliya Kumara. Unfortunately Isipathana will be in Kandy without their head coach, who is with the national women’s outfit at the Commonwealth Games 2022 Rugby Sevens event.

Meanwhile high riding Vidyartha led by Arosha Ratnayake have won their last three games against St. Peter’s, Dharmaraja and Science respectively. A win today will put them in to the super round but would require a meticulous plan to last the 70 minutes. They are coached by an old boy in Nalin Wijesinghe. Although according to form the lightning fast Isipathana hold they are expected to be greeted by heavy rains at Nittawela.
