Eranda and Parami emerge champions

Eranda Madusanka Nayanajith of President’s College Ambagasdowa and Parami Wasanthi of Kuliyapitiya Central clinched the Boys’ and Girls’ 15km events respectively at the Nestomalt All-Island Schools Mini Marathon worked off in Kuliyapitiya on Friday (7).

Meanwhile, Kaveesha Induwara of President’s College Ambagasdowa and Lakmini Dulanjali of Siridhamma MV, Galle won the Boys’ and Girls’ 5km events.

Over 2,000 competitors participated in the 5km event and over 400 competitors were in action in the 15km event.

The winners and runners-up received Trophies and cash awards from the Minister of Education, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, who was the Chief Guest.

Results:

15km Boys’ - 1. Eranda Madusanka Nayanajith (President’s College Ambagasdowa). 2. H. M. Chaminda Nuwan Kumara (President’s College Ambagasdowa). 3. Kavishka Eranga Silva (Bandaranayake MV Payagala).

15km Girls’ - 1. Parami Wasanthi (Kuliyapitiya Central). 2. H. M. B. A. Herath (Kuliyapitiya Central). 3. Dilrukshi Samarakoon (Welimada MMV).

5km Boys’ - 1. Kaveesha Induwara (President’s College Ambagasdowa). 2. Lakmal Sandeepa Wickramasinghe (Wekada MV). 3. Thilina Madushan (Wekada MV).

5km Girls’ - 1. Lakmimi Dulanjali (Siridhamma MV Galle). 2. Githmi Sandana (Bandaranayake MV Payagala). 3. Y. Rishanthini (Tamil MV Gawarawila, Hatton).
