Essex, Gloucestershire coast to easy wins

Essex and Gloucestershire coasted to easy outright wins with two days to spare in the County Championship matches which concluded at Chelmsford and Bristol yesterday.


The two teams recorded their third outright wins with Essex outclassing Northamptonshire by an innings and 44 runs and Gloucestershire recording a comfortable seven wicket win over Durham.


Meanwhile an unbeaten knock of 205 in 299 balls inclusive of 18 boundaries and a six by Chris Cooke helped Glamorgan, resuming from their overnight score of 371 for 5, to amass a score of 672 for 6 declared against Surrey. (MSA)
