Expo Lanka Youth Cup football begins today

Young Silver SC will take on Saunders SC in the curtain raiser match of the Expo Lanka Youth Cup 2022 Under 19 Football Tournament at the City League Grounds in Colombo today commencing at 4:00 p.m.  

A total of 18 teams will compete in this tournament, which will be worked off until March 12 with all matches to be played during the weekend.  The tournament will be conducted for the second time under the Covid health guidelines with the intention of identifying talented youth football players in the country.  

The champions will receive a cash award of Rs 100,000 and the runners-up will receive Rs 75,000, CEO and Managing Director of Expo Lanka Jagath Pathirana said yesterday.

Rudra SC vs Colombo Veterans SC at 3:00 p.m.
