FINA President to make a short visit to Sri Lanka

Captain Husain Al Musallam of Kuwait, President of FINA and Director General of Olympic Council of Asia will arrive in Sri Lanka on a short visit on Friday, at the invitation of the President of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka Suresh Subramaniam.   

During his stay, he is scheduled to meet the NOC SL President Subramaniam, and the Secretary-General of the NOC SL, Maxwell de Silva. Capt Husain will be visiting Killer Whale Aquatics-Sri Lanka on Friday afternoon where he is expected to meet the Lankan swimmers.   

This visit will facilitate closer co-operation between FINA and Sri Lanka and this is the first time such a high-profile official from FINA has ever made an official to the country. The visit will also enable FINA to offer scholarships and training to our local swimmers and coachers. 

 
The FINA President is also scheduled to make a courtesy call on Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa and meet the Sri Lankan press on Saturday at the Hemasiri Fernando Auditorium at 10:30 a.m.   

He will make his departure from Sri Lanka on Sunday morning.
