FSL official term extended by Sports Minister

Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has decided to extend the official term of Football Sri Lanka (FSL) for an additional period of  ten days. 

The Sports Minister decided to extend the administrative term of FSL until September 10, 2022, following a request made by FSL President Umar Jaswar and its Executive Committee. 

The term of the present set of FSL officials ended on August 31. The new dates for the FSL elections will be announced after a discussion between the Sports Minister and the four-member FIFA delegation, which is set to arrive in Sri Lanka on September 5.  
The FIFA delegation and the Sports Minister are set to discuss matters related to the FSL Constitution and the possible amendments.  
Meanwhile, Director General Department of Sports Development Amal Edirisuriya said that three more Sports Associations, Elle, Gymnastics and Handball have also been granted a grace period to conduct their scheduled elections.
