Farouk elected President of Lanka Cavaliers

 Lanka Cavaliers Ex-Co Members for the year 2025

Riaz Farouk, an Old Peterite was elected as the President of Lanka Cavaliers at their Annual General Meeting held recently.  

Lanka Cavaliers was the pioneer Legend Cricket playing club in Sri-Lanka, which was founded in January 1997 just after the World Cup victory in 1996, by some eminent Sri Lankan cricketers led by the first Test Cricket Captain the late Bandula Warnapura.

Since 1997, Lanka Cavaliers have been continuously promoting cricket in Sri-Lanka, especially in the outstations by playing matches, coaching outstation schools and donating cricket materials to these needy schools identifying young talented cricketers.

Many of the Lanka Cavaliers’ members have represented clubs in First-Class cricket and at national level, also captained Premier sides and some are presently involved with Sri Lanka Cricket as match referees, senior and junior selectors, coaches, umpiring and promoting Sri Lanka cricket at all levels.
