Amal Edirisooriya, Director General of the Department of Sports Development of the Ministry of Sports, exchanging the agreement documents with SLSF President Suren Kohobange

The Sri Lanka Squash Federation (SLSF) and the Sri Lanka Rowing Association (SLRA) received financial assistance from the Ministry of Sports during a ceremony held in Colombo recently.
This was after the National Sports Council (NSC), under the direction of the High-Performance Centre (HPC), had identified that squash and rowing have the potential to win medals for the country in future international events.
The SLRA received a sum of LKR 42,143,249.00 while the SLSF received a sum of LKR 52,400,900.00 for the preparation for next year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, and the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
SLRA President Dimuth Gunawardena and SLSF President Suren Kohobange received the official agreement documents from Amal Edirisooriya, Director General of the Department of sports development of the Ministry of Sports.
Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa was also present at this occasion.
