Five netball umpires leave for Asian camp in Singapore

Five rising Sri Lankan first-class netball umpires left for Singapore yesterday (6) to participate in an Asian Netball umpiring camp.  


The Asian Netball International Umpires Camp is being held from March 7-10 targeting the 12th Asian Youth Netball Championship 2023 to be held in June in South Korea.  
About 20-25 netball referees from the countries competing in the Asian Junior Netball Championship in South Korea are expected to participate in the camp, according to the Sri Lanka Netball Federation.  


The five participants from Sri Lanka are Buddika Suriyabandara (Colombo), Eranga Sithara (Monaragala), Niroshan Sadaranga (Badulla), Shiranthi Prasadika (Colombo) and Nimali Thushanthika (Colombo).  


The Asian Netball Federation will select the top umpires in the Asian Umpires Camp to officiate at the Asian Youth Netball championships.
