Noor Zulsky Passela the immediate Past President of the Billiards and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) breathed his last on Tuesday as he passed away after contracting Covid-19.

Passela was the president of the BASL for two terms which he took over in the year 2016 before handing it over in June this year.

Passela was an ardent supporter of cue sports which produced the first world champion of Sri Lanka in M.J.M. Lafir in the year 1973.

Passela during his tenure of two terms as president of BASL went out of his way to keep the cue sports alive and on so many occasions pocketed out his own finances to conduct the national billiards and snooker tournaments and various other tournaments involving the ranking cue players of Sri Lanka.

Passela leaves behind his wife Sagari, daughter Mahima and son Akiel. The officials of the BASL and affiliated clubs express their deepest sympathies to the family. The remains will be taken for burial to Ottamavadi in the Batticaloa district today morning.
